Storyline

Regarded as Severino Reyes' masterpiece, "Walang Surgat" broadly underscores the injustice of Spanish rule even as it dances around the cruel fate of the young lovers Tenyong and Julia with humor and song, Set in the final leg of the Philippines Revolution, Tenyong is forced to leave behind his childhood sweetheart Julia to join the Katipunan. Meanwhile, Julia's mother pressures her into marrying the wealthy Miguel instead. With no word from Tenyong as the battle prolongs, Julia give in, but her wedding is interrupted by the fatally wounded Tenyong, who returns with a dying wish. Written by BGP

Pre-war screen legend Rosario Moreno appeared opposite Rogelio dela Rosa in Sampaguita Pictures' Lagot na Kuwintas. Rosario, the charming star of Tunay na Ina, one of the only five surviving pre-war movies, died in the bombing of Manila during the waning days of WWII, while Dela Rosa continued his movie career after the war, becoming one of the hottest and bankable stars of the post-war era. See more »
